In June, Katelyn had the opportunity to travel to Oulu Finland and participate in the Summer School of the 16th International Congress on Circumpolar Health. Over the course of three days (June 6-8 2015), courses included Community-Based Participatory Research Principles and Practices in the North and Healthy Population in the Arctic.
Katelyn presented a poster on AICBR’s “ [pdf] Working Together to Achieve Healthier Lifestyles in Yukon and Northw.st Territories’ Communities” project. Following the summer school, Katelyn represented AICBR at the 16th International Congress on Circumpolar Health: Focus on Future Health and Wellbeing (June 8-11 2015) (http://icch16.oulu.fi/) with two presentations. A presentation and poster on "[pdf] Indigenous Community Food Security in Yukon Territory” and an oral presentation on the "[pdf] Working Together to Achieve Healthier Lifestyles in Yukon and Northwest Territories’ Communities” project. This was a fantastic opportunity for AICBR to share their work with the circumpolar community and build collaborations with others working on health in the North.
