Faculty Position at University of Alberta's School of Public Health

The School of Public Health at the University of Alberta is accepting applications for a tenure-track, Assistant or Associate Professor level position within Northern Aboriginal Health Systems. The position will commence no later than July 1, 2018. The successful candidate will be nominated for a Canada Research Chair at the Tier 2 level (http://www.chairs-chaires.gc.ca).

The applicant will:

  • have a PhD in public health or a cognate discipline;
  • have demonstrated the potential to achieve international recognition in his/her field in the next five years;
  • have the potential to attract, develop and retain excellent trainees, master’s and doctoral students and future researchers; and
  • be proposing an innovative research program. The applicant must have previous direct experience working with northern and Aboriginal communities, organizations and/or governments. As such, the individual will be expected to spend a significant proportion of his or her time (at least 30%) located in a regional centre in the northern territories.
