Healthy Living Inventory Maps - 2016
Community Inventory Questions
In 2014, the Arctic Institute of Community-Based Research (AICBR) did an inventory of healthy eating and active living programs in the NWT and Yukon. This was part of a project called Working Together To Achieve Healthier Lifestyles in Yukon and Northwest Territories’ Communities.
We greatly appreciated your help last time and have posted the inventory on our website, as an online mapping tool (http://www.aicbr.ca/healthy-living-inventory/)
We hope that you have found the inventory helpful as a tool to see what is happening in NWT and Yukon communities. Our next step is to update the information from two years ago, and use it to share information about programs, create and strengthen networks, and show successes or gaps in programming. This helps programs and communities with planning for healthier communities and to avoid duplication in others.
The NWT Recreation & Parks Association (NWT-RPA) is working with us to help compile active living programs and activities and the Northern Nutrition Association is working with us to compile healthy eating programs and activities in the NWT. Thank you for helping us to gather this information so it can be posted on-line for your easy access on an interactive map. Feel free to add photos, videos, etc. Please email those to email@example.com.
Steps to do the survey:
- List your active living or healthy eating program.
- Answer the 11 questions about the program. The programs and activities collected for the inventory may be ongoing or current single-year initiatives.
- Please enter all programs you are aware of.
- Provide a contact person and contact information.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email Sheena Tremblay (firstname.lastname@example.org) (active living) or Jill Christensen (email@example.com)(healthy eating).
If you have more than one program to share information about, please fill out the information for each program.
If there are photos or video clips that you would also like to include on the online map, please email them directly to firstname.lastname@example.org.
